APPOINTMENTNobody wants their pet to need surgery… but when they do, we’re the kind of team you’ll want on your side. Whether it’s desexing or dental work, your pet is in kind, capable hands.
Desexing for Dogs, Cats & Rabbits
Desexing isn’t just about preventing litters — it’s one of the kindest things you can do for your pet’s long-term health and wellbeing. It reduces the risk of serious health issues and helps smooth out some common behaviour hiccups.
Benefits of desexing:
- Lowers the risk of mammary, ovarian, uterine, and testicular cancer
- Prevents pyometra (a life-threatening uterine infection) and prostate problems
- Helps manage behaviours like marking, mounting, and roaming
Every desexing procedure includes:
- Pre-anaesthetic health check
- Personalised anaesthetic plan
- Fluid therapy and full vital sign monitoring
- Pain relief before, during, and after surgery
- 4 days of take-home pain medication
- Buried stitches (no need for removal)
🧡 One of our qualified nurses stays with your pet from admission through to full recovery.
Recommended Desexing Ages:
- Cats: 4 months (spey or castrate)
- Dogs: Breed-specific recommendations between 6–15 months
- Rabbits: 6 months
💡 Not sure when the right time is? Book a free adolescent health check with our nurses. We’ll assess your pet’s growth, development, and help you plan the perfect timing for desexing.
Dental Procedures & Oral Health
Healthy Teeth = A Healthier Life
Bad breath might be the first sign — but dental disease goes much deeper. It affects over two-thirds of pets by age three, yet often flies under the radar.
Signs your pet may need a dental check:
- Bad breath
- Discoloured teeth
- Red or bleeding gums
- Trouble eating or chewing
- Retained baby teeth
What’s involved in a dental procedure:
- Pre-anaesthetic health check and personalised anaesthetic plan
- Fluid therapy and full vital sign monitoring
- General anaesthetic for a pain-free, safe clean
- Full oral exam and dental scale & polish
- Dental X-rays to check roots and jawbone health
- Nerve blocks and pain relief if extractions are needed
🧡 Your pet goes home the same day, and we’ll send them off with everything they need for a smooth recovery.
