Vaccinations
APPOINTMENTWe are passionate about having our patients enjoy their vet visits and so our whole team take a fear free approach to veterinary care. A fear free approach to veterinary care means we not only address the physical wellbeing of our patients, but also their emotional wellbeing.
We are proactive about reducing the stress around veterinary care and will utilise a combination of pheromones, supplements, medications, gentle handling techniques and co-operative care training to provide excellent health care to our patients. The less stressed our patients are, our physical examination will be more thorough, our test results will be more reliable, and patients and their families will be happier to see us.
Preventative care is an important part of keeping our pets healthy and monitoring their health overtime. It is often easier to prevent illness than treat it once it has taken hold.
Appointments are typically 30 minutes.
Dog Vaccinations
Our standard dog vaccination is a C5 vaccination which will provide protection against parvovirus, distemper, hepatitis, bordetella, and parainfluenza (kennel cough). For dogs over 12 months old, the C3 component of the vaccination will last for 3 years. The kennel cough component will only last 12 months and so annual boosters will be required. We can advise you on whether or not a leptospirosis vaccination is required for your pet. This vaccination is available at an additional cost.
Puppies from $135 (Monday – Friday), from $155 (Saturday)
Dogs from $145 (Monday – Friday), from $165 (Saturday)
With the current outbreak of leptospirosis, we recommend all dogs and puppies be vaccinated against leptospirosis. Initially, your dog will need 2 vaccinations 2-4 weeks apart and then a vaccination annually.
Stand alone: $125
Addition to another vaccination: $53.50
Cat Vaccinations
Our standard vaccination for cats is an F3 vaccination which will provide protection against panleukopaenia virus (feline enteritis), herpesvirus (cat flu), and calicivirus (cat flu). Depending on your cat’s risk profile we may also recommend vaccination against Feline Aids (FIV vaccination). This vaccination is available at an additional cost.
Kittens from $135 (Monday – Friday), from $155 (Saturday)
Cats from $145 (Monday – Friday), from $165 (Saturday)
Rabbit Vaccinations
Fear Free Vaccinations
If you pet is too fearful to be vaccinated during this visit, we may recommend that you pet is prescribed a pre-visit pharmaceutical (situational anxiety medication) to help them better cope with their vet visit and the injection. You will be charged for a consultation fee $80 plus any required medication or prescriptions, and then we will reschedule the vaccination visit for another time.
